ThingsA clock
Of stars
Paw a harp
In my chest-rooms.
You
Open my body-drawers
Like a beautiful surgeon,
You tell me you find
Wind up dolls
And small, pink
Clapping
Ballet shoes:
Sugar-blood
(Fire)works -
And you
(Silently) say to me:
"Oh, your poor heart" -
Without ever knowing
How overworked
It really was.
* * *
I watch you move but
My God,
When you look
Like that
Something in me
Sinks like
Slowly drowning
Islands.
I hang off
Nervous laughter
While I turn
My gaze
Down
To my shoes,
My fingers
Make knots and seem to
Understand:
A spell,
An old therapy unsaid,
That makes itself
Inside of
You.
First SightWas it love at first sight?
As you drank champagne
From a frosted martini glass
Masked in flippant arrogance,
As one stiletto heel dangled,
Hung precariously from toes.
All girlish curls and charm
Then near whorish brazenness
In the space of an eye-blink.
- I'd be flattered by your attentions
If you were not blind drunk,
And calling me absently
By my best friends name.
:thumb181810423: Photonics WeirdnessPhotoengraved and lavishly explored,
I watched the splashes of blue sounded light
crash across your face from the doorway.
It fills your face, that blanked out expression.
Drenched under winters cold mask,
I retreated upstairs,
looking for a place of mental hibernation.
You've watched that episode five times.
Fifth time's the charm they say,
but I know this isn't right-
Two plus two does not equal five,
but if the spooned splashes said so
you'd believe them.
"Today's episode was brought to you by-"
Ignorance,
I think, brings you away
from those you love, unless
they are alike minded,
stitch-mouthed fools.
I never did like your mother.

toy boats and moon-rockstoy boats sail in the calm streams that run along sidewalks,
rushing past houses, racing buccaneers with play swords.
imaginary sailors working hard to man the decks,
keeping watch for pirate sails.
cardboard spaceships dragged across lawns,
soaring to unnamed planets in far away worlds.
passing stars and black holes,
finding adventure under every backyard moon-rock.
cavernous caves made of purple and blue fabrics
convert living rooms into hidden forts.
you can't hear the giggles as you count to ten.
ready or not, here I come.
spinning in circles, full tilt, until daylight fades,
falling breathless on soft, sweet grass.
laughing together, dizzy, in the dying light
wishing upon stars with all your might.
run oh so fast when tiny hands tug pant-legs,
little voices laughing gaily:
tag, you're it!
:thumb181896856: Seeing RedIn the moment of desire,
Eyes half shut,
Fingers digging into a deeper reality,
And voices all but silent,
The world explodes.
Conditionalityhis voice echoes in every crevice of my mind
in crested valleys that can only come up
short.
his eyes gleam with childhood trust
despite his years
as he whispers to me his idyllic strings of fantasies
and romanticized unreality.
I let him pontificate his crippled tautologies,
because I don't have the heart to tell him
that love is, by definition,
conditional.
Lighthouse RailingI am more a storyteller and less a narrator.
Unfolding the map of you, I spread it across my floorboards.
The polaroid corners are worn and no longer sharp.
Its colors have faded and bled to the borders.
What is an edge, but an entrance to somewhere we'd rather be.
I'm tracing our backroad route,
Remembering the speed limit I gave you to break.
My thumb falters around each curve.
Post card worthy pictures flash-flood my memory.
Regret seeps in through my fingertips.
I hear it fluttering in my tendons.
You're watching me and you know I know that.
Happiness is a place between You and Then and I can't get there from here.

Ironici'm your gypsy lover
you're the robin of today
and at night we share a cigarette
with conversations dirtier than ashtrays
Locked doorsI am a collection of locked doors
sealed shut by pain and sorrow
with a thousand rusty keys in my hand
they will not turn, yet they fit in every hole.
The locks are renewed each day,
skilled carpenters carefully craft new doors
while I cower behind my gates.
I am a collection of locked doors
of hidden memories and a past unknown
a  blacksmith with a bleeding fist
making keys all day long, keys that will not twist.
I am a collection of locked doors
the right key is within reach
every door holds a pair of lips
that don't practice what they preach
making sure that nothing slips
through the collection of locked doors.

with eyes turned upwards,
hollows of the topography of our land
etched beneath,
filled with the decay of sorrows unsung.
he says no words:
his lips are the creases of fitted sheets,
ironed, hugging the
nuances of a corner and shape
of white.
his actions are no supplement;
for although there is a grace in his lack of mannerisms
and a whole in his empty stare,
i get cannot form a perception
beyond
there he sits.

NativePlantains towering, Goliath of the herbs
Great wide leaves filter the sun
Temple of green light
Two small black eyes, shiny peppercorns
Peer at me from under her home of fruit

Looks cautiously down
I look up at her
She does not understand that I love her
Coffins of Love -a happy poem-There is so much calling to me tonight. I can feel a thunderswept Autumn piercing my aging afternoons. October is bristling with the revolution of seasons and my heart goes out to the haunted. I want so badly to hear your name again, hear it on my own tongue. The antechambers of Winter have been opened, just a crack. I can hear the tinsel and cold seeping through such a door. Take me as I am tonight, because tomorrow I will never be the same. The carved hollows of a nearby lamp call to me, beckoning my shadow ever closer. The road outside is a muted, desolate thing, but there is a peaceful solitude lingering where my fresh hope never fully materialized. Coffins of love shudder to point fish pale fingers at me..'nevermore, nevermore..' But my own relic has been cracked, and I've learned to breathe again. Rock Around the ClockI want to set,
The night on fire
I want to hear the music play,
Soar higher and higher
I want you all,
To sing with me
Because that's the way,
It
Should
Be!
I wanna rock!
Around the clock!
I wanna listen to the music,
So don't ever let it stop!
I wanna rock!
Around the clock!
Give it all I am,
Give it everything I got!
I wanna rock!
Around the clock!
Do you wanna rock with me?
The music is pumping,
Pulsating through me
And living in the music,
Is the easiest way I know,
To be free!
So everybody sing with me...
Because that's the way,
It
Should
Be!
I wanna rock!
Around the clock!
I wanna listen to the music,
So don't ever let it stop!
I wanna rock!
Around the clock!
Give it all I am,
Give it everything I got!
I wanna rock!
Around the clock!
Do you wanna rock with me?
Sensations...
Driving through you...
No matter how you're feeling...
This I know...
Rock always...
Seems to...
Fit
The
Mood!
I wanna rock!
Around the clock!
I wanna listen to the music,
So don't ever let it stop!
I wan
