I think I lost us
in a glass of scotch -
softly drowning,
going down like
every mad man
I ever envied.
Why did I believe
your lips tasted
so good,
sweet and heathen
like the heather
I laid you in
that last night
I came home?
I had a thing
for damaged women,
and you could drink
your mother's last words
in everything
we wasted.

You always did like picking up the shot glass and using it as a portal.

*Chuckles* You know how many portal moments I have had... there was that interesting weekend we spent a few years ago that seemed right out of a David Lynch movie. I need to write about that one. Life can be stranger than fiction!

Our fiction is the status quo, our reality is quite the opposite.

I feel like sometimes we are etching ourselves into time and wonder if it was worth all the work to leave a piece of us where we carved it...

It tastes like steel this time. Cold, beautiful, and almost as if they're aren't enough drops left to stay alright. Absolutely stunning.
