Literature Text

Rain sheens on your skin
brightening winter’s twilight
as we skip puddles.

Wood smoke curling up
enshrouds your head and shoulders
portrait in soft greys.

Unfold those fresh wings
and take to the air gently
dawn’s light has broken

A tendril of hair
frames the hollows of your face
soft dance of shadows.

The moon loves to hide
behind the glint in your eyes
where you keep secrets.

Silk runs down your back
your hair a burnished curtain
catching candle light.
